UK Mortgage Life Insurance brought to you by:

If I’m asked for additional information or a medical, will I have to pay more?

  • Not necessarily. It will depend on whether the information shows that you are a higher risk.

When the Insurance Company asks for extra information, it is because they think it is possible that you represent an above average risk. When they assess the information that you supply it may show that you are a normal risk, in which case the premium will be as quoted. This is the case in 88% of applications. Alternatively they may decide that you rated as a higher risk, in which case your premium will be greater.
