Does it cost more if I’m a smoker?
The normal definition of a smoker, used by Insurance Companies is “a person who used, smoked or otherwise consumed nicotine products during the previous 5 years.” There are a few Insurance Companies who use a 12-month period, rather than the 5-year period. So if you have given up smoking more than a year ago, but less than 5 years ago, you can save a lot of money by going to one of these companies.
